An Giang Fisheries Import-Export Joint Stock Company (AGIFISH JSC.) was established in 2001 and was listed on Vietnam's Stock Exchange on March 8, 2002. Agifish is a strong trademark of one of the leading companies of Vietnam producing seafood for export. The Company has operated in the fishery industry for over 20 years. Agifish products, especially Pangasius (Basa) fish, have been exported to many countries around the world. The Company's revenue has seen continuous growth, reaching 46 million USD by the end of 2005. Agifish products have met the demand of consumers in many places around the world, from Europe, America and Australia to Asian markets including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, China and Taiwan. The Company has also aimed to boost exports to potential markets like Mexico and South Africa. Since the innovation of the country, AGIFISH have become one of the leaders of Vietnam sea products industry: export turn-over and income have been increasing by years; the output has been beyond 8,000 tons of finished products for export. These achievements are owing to the dynamic and creative management, courage in thinking and doing, combination of intelligence, capacity and consensus union of whole personal of the Company.

Facilities Description

As a leading company in the processing of Tra fish and Basa fish, Agifish has great potential due to a large domestic and overseas demand. Vietnam's Tra fish and Basa fish processing industry is still in its early stage but growing quickly. In the future, Agifish will focus on investing in the construction of the technological infrastructure required to produce mass volume, while at the same time meeting the markets' quality and food safety standards.

Agifish is conducting research on how to increase the value of products of Pangasius fish with value-added processed products packaged nicely and conveniently for distribution. Agifish also applies its technologies to the manufacture of a range of products such as bio-diesel, gelatine, seasonings, pure fish oil for use in the pharmaceutical industry, fish powder and bone powder, etc. from Tra fish and Basa fish, in order to create new products for the market.
Agifish has a workforce of 2.700 employees who possess skill and abilities to serve the production and business activities of the Company. The staves assigned with checking product quality are on duty at every phase of the process to ensure the quality of some 50 tons of frozen products and ten tons of value added products a day.

HACCP, ISO9001:2000, SQF 1000, HALAL, BRC have been applied in quality management system in order to assure the best quality for any product to satisfy the day-by-day strict requirement of the market. Two main processing enterprises have been equipped with many advanced equipment, modern processing assembly to satisfy the day-by-day higher requirement of customers.

Beside, the company has also organized training courses to raise the professional skill of workers.

Products/Commodities Description

Pangasius (Basa) is a catfish species of the Mekong Delta region which is tasty, nutritious and easy to prepare in different dishes. The Company is supplied with Pangasius (Basa) fish bred in a clean and green environment. Hatcheries are able to control the use of antibiotics and other banned chemicals in breeding. There is a wide variety of Pangasius fish products for export, including fillet, chunk, whole and gutted fish, strip fillet, skewer fillet and rolled fillet. The products are frozen in blocks or IQF. Pangasius (Basa) fish is the main product of the Company.
